All day, yesterday, I worked hard to get ready for being out of commission for a few days (I hope that’s all!). I’m scheduled to be at the hospital at 8:45 AM. I’m happy about it being a morning surgery but not real happy about traveling down that 90 miles on very slippery roads. Luckily, Will is going to drive me down and he’s a good driver. Last night I went into town to gas up the car and dry some clothes at the coin laundry as my new dryer decided to not work. About 40 mph was all I dared go as it is snowing and the 30 degree temps we’ve had made ice form under the snowpack. Ish!

These water lilies make me think of spring, not surgery.

David is going to move my computer, etc. downstairs, where I’ll be residing in Mom and Dad’s old bedroom tomorrow. So, if all goes well, I should be able to do some work on it in a few days. Until then, say a prayer for the surgery and I’ll be seeing you soon!

Flowers will be here soon!

  1. Oh I just love seeing all of these prayers and well-wishes for you Jackie. I pray that you will have patience for the healing, that you will be good and not a stinker, I pray that you will do all of your exercises even when you don’t want to, and I pray that you will be nice to Will even when you feel cranky. In Jesus name, Amen

  2. My prayer is speedy recovery, and He will do it for His glory! I’ve had a little clean up done to both knees, and never did the meds, and they never gave me any instruction when to get up and do things. So just pushed myself. Husband had replacement on one and has done great for years. Well worth doing.

  3. Prayers said for both of you! You be careful and follow doctor’s recommendations….!!!!
Christina said she told you about my move into town…quite a change! Are care, both of you!,,

  4. Well, its a day later now, and if you’re like the rest of us post-op, you’ve been walking and feel pretty dang good. As you know from previous surgeries, that’s the meds. So prayers continue for these next days of adjustments, and then getting settled in at home again, and doing PT.
God already knew you, of course, but with the many hundreds praying for you now, He is on a first name basis with you! Hugs to you and Will.

  5. Hope day one is going well. And take pain meds if you need them – not the time to be a martyr (high levels of pain is not good for your body IMHO).
I’m sure you have canine/feline company as you recoup.

  6. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery Jackie. I hope this makes planting and harvesting time a lot easier for you.

  7. Prayers for you for a successful procedure with manageable pain and a speedy recovery. Those flower pictures are beautiful! God bless you.

  8. Prayers for healing quickly! My Dad had a knee replacement a few years ago and he’s going strong at 97! Lives by himself and drives ? You’ll do fine!

  9. Do the rehab, listen to the drs. My DH has had 2 hip replacements, 2 shoulder replacements and a device in his back. He’s doing really well

  10. You are going to be fine just be sure to do the rehab. Have had both my knees replaced and it’s worth all that is involved to once again be pain free but the real secret to it all is do the rehab!

  11. By now they’ve had you up and taking that first slow walk on that new knee. I wish you the best recovery and am sending up prayers to the Great Healer on your behalf. Don’t forget to be a good girl and do your PT religiously! Been there, done that four times myself. You’re tough, kiddo, and you’ll do fine. I just know it. :)

  14. Praying for a quick recovery and a completely successful surgery.Just keep your eyes on the goal of complete mobility when the inevitable pain of surgery and physical therapy hits ya. But you are tough! You’ll do great and be up and in the garden soon! And what a joy that will be for you….and all of us who get to enjoy reading about all your exploits!!

  15. Lots of prayers for a job done right and very minimal pain issues. I can’t wait to hear about your journey as I have not heard good things lately. Might just be the negative thoughts since Covid but coming from you it’s genuine. I know you’ll be upfront and honest with everything.
Here’s to you, Jackie fir a very good raoidly recovery. I can’t wait to hear all about it!

  16. I am praying your surgery goes smoothly and that you enjoy a speedy and complete recovery.
Love and hugs to you Jackie

  17. You are going to do so well! Be sure to stretch and exercise before getting out of bed, at the breakfast table, walk around, more when you lay down, etc. Do not limit them to once or twice a day. It is those who only do the exercises with PT once or twice a week that suffer. You can do this.

  18. Prayers for you, Will, and your surgical team. It may take a bit more than a few days to get going again…unless you want to take opioids for pain. My surgeon suggested being up for 5 minutes every waking hour for the first WEEK! Blessings as you heal.
