Old guy here advises you to buy more ammo. Now.
Here’s why.
- Massive US shipments of munitions – small arms as well as artillery—to Israel and Ukraine have greatly depleted US military stocks which urgently need to be replaced.
- Nitrocellulose, a critical ingredient for gunpowder, is now harder to access than ever.
- As much as the election of Donald Trump as President has benefitted gun owners on the legal and political side, his promised tariffs on imports are likely to hit hard on many of the foreign-made cartridges that have hitherto been economical for us to buy.
- The election of a pro-gun President has prevented a panic-buy of ammo after the ascent of another anti-gun President. The firearms industry calls this a “Trump slump” and as a result, unexpectedly, a lot of ammo is now cheaper than it was before the election.
I just placed a large order with SGAmmo.com, which I’ve had excellent luck with for years. My respectful advice: go thou and do likewise. In the near future, you may be very glad that you did.
By the same token, if you reload, this is a good time to stock up on powder. Store responsibly.
Ha ha! Just as I opened this blog, my Ring doorbell announced the arrival of two heavy packages. Good advice, Mas. Take advantage of all the Black Friday sales currently underway.
Thanks. Off topic but what do you think of Pam Bondi? She getting a lot of SoMe flack for Zimmerman and her position on Red Flag laws.
Mixed bag in terms of gun-related stuff, but last I knew she had an “A” rating from NRA.
True, but I’m not too worried. President Trump has made his 2A position pretty clear, no doubt she was vetted on the subject before being nominated, and if she strays Trump knows how to say, “You’re fired!”
if it’s this point folks are stocking up, they are way behind the curve…
epstein didn’t kill himself…
Funny you mention SGAMMO. I just placed an order with them yesterday. SuperVel doesn’t stock range .38 so I go to Sam for that. SV is my go to for 9mm, .233, and .45. Got enough of those to challenge the foundation on one side of my house.
Just be sure to check the shipping fees before completing your order. Some of these crooks offer low prices on the ammo & then try to charge $50 or more for shipping.
excellent point. thank you for reminding us.
I am pretty well-stocked with both ammo and reloading supplies. I looked over my inventory to see if there were any holes.
About the only thing that I could see is that I am light on 300 Blackout Subsonic ammo. I have plenty of the supersonic stuff but little to none of the Subsonic rounds.
So, I found a pretty good price on some Hornady 190 gr. Subsonic ammo and ordered a few boxes. I got free shipping on it too!
In reality, however, I stocked up long ago. When I saw that the Biden/Harris regime would take power in January 2021, I knew what to do.
In truth, I have been slowly building inventory since the days of Obama. The anti-gunners would clutch their pearls and have the “vapors” if they knew what some of us 2A supporters have packed away! 🙂
As they say, the best time to stock up on ammo was years ago.
The second best time is now.
I started stocking up over 30 years ago so, if I ever got to retire, I wouldn’t have to spend money on ammo. I, too, have dealt with SGAMMO for several years. They are the only place I order from. Free shipping over $200, too.
