Time is short as what may be the most important election of our lifetimes approaches. Every vote is critical, not only in the race for the White House but the critical downstream races for House and Senate. If we hold the Senate, we have a chance to shortstop devastatingly bad Supreme Court appointments that will literally tilt the Court for generations.
Spread the word. If every gun owner votes to defeat the candidate who demonizes them, Hillary Clinton, we can keep her from taking power. Too many gun owners still believe the false meme that “Hillary believes in the Second Amendment.”
In the time of electronic communication, there are many informative links you can share with potential voters you know to get the truth out there. You can share them more widely with letters to the editors of your local newspapers.
Backwoods Home Magazine offers a couple such in its current edition. Because third party votes are likely to tip the election to Clinton – as they once did for her husband; remember Ross Perot? – please reach out to those you know who are turned off on both candidates, and share why a vote for Trump is important to keeping our rights, whether we like him or not. Libertarian Dave Duffy explains why he’s voting pragmatically instead of idealistically this time, here.
And I have another installment of my series on understanding the gun control debate, here. Feel free to share it along with its earlier companion piece, here.
Breaking news. FBI Director James Comey just notified Congress that the investigation into Hillary’s e-mail fiasco is being re-opened. Supposedly some “new” e-mails have been found that may change the investigation. Personally, I believe he is attempting to stave off a full scale rebellion inside the FBI and Justice Department prior to the election.
This “re-opening” of the investigation, while not good news for the Clinton family enterprise, cannot be finished prior to election day, but it will be much less damaging than 50-100 agents going public before the election.
Having a good time watching CNN trying to explain this news while they wait for instructions from the DNC.
I suppose it’s worth noting that Donald Trump has stated that he won’t accept the result of this election. So, he could win and then insist it really belongs to this “wonderful woman . . . who’s just a bit misunderstood.” (D.Trump 2008.)
I think you have it right Dennis. Delay, redirect, entertain.
I wonder if Comey’s e-mails might turn up at some point. Imagine that.
This could be the beginning of the end of the ongoing criminal enterprise known as the Clinton Crime Family.
Comey trying to salvage what little remains of his integrity after his humiliation from the Wikki leaks revelations and the threat of outright rebellion from the rank and file FBI agent cadre.
This next week will be VERY interesting.
Yeah, well, I’m definitely voting for one thing…time for this blog to return to guns! How ’bout it, Mas, care to weigh in on Springfield Armory’s Saint announcement on Nov. 1 or are you bound by a media embargo?
TXCOMT
I believe the Anthony Weiner connection may prove Hillary’s undoing. What is security if not keeping classified information out of the hands of those susceptible to blackmail. Certainly Weiners actions placed him in a position to be blackmailed.
TXCOMT, I hear ya. On the Saint, I honestly don’t know. Waiting for Nov. 1 on that like everyone else
Who will drain the swamp? Trump, Trump, Trump!
It is a pity that Donald Trump, with the early help of the DNC and the Mainstream Media (MSM), is the Republican Candidate. With just about any of the other candidates, say Rubio or Cruz (heck, even Bush), Hillary would be toast by now. However, Trump’s negatives rival Hillary’s own (which is why the MSM liked him so much during the Republican nomination process) so it is still a horse race. A horse race that Hillary still has a good chance to win despite the constant drip, drip, drip of negative news that the MSM cannot entirely hush up or explain away.
One can see why Hillary was so hot to encourage her supporters to vote early. The sooner the better from her point of view. Get those votes registered before her supporters have a chance to waver.
I certainly plan to vote against Hillary. Heck, I’d sooner have Cersei Lannister as my Queen than Hillary Clinton as my President! After all, Cersei is less corrupt and is a helluva lot better looking!
There are gun owners who think Hillary supports the 2nd Amendment?
Uncle Mas, glad you are in the arena helping to turn out voters! Many are drowning in the media perception propaganda hit job. But the truth is:
TRUMP shattered the previous record of 12 million primary votes for George W. Bush in 2000 by 1.4 million more votes.
TRUMP generated a record 28 million voters turning out for the (previously declining in numbers) Republican party.
TRUMP set all time records for the number of individuals making small campaign contributions.
TRUMP has set all time records for rally attendance.
TRUMP has energized millions of first time voters and people who had given up.
It is a movement. Only TRUMP could have beaten Crooked Hillary Clinton, and the wave is coming ashore…
Here is a video of TRUMP at his best:

RichNH: Yes, we do. But it’s the real 2nd A, as interpreted and yet to be interpreted by the Supreme Court, not the wishing-will-make-it-true one.
I too, wish we could return to the discussion of guns, new firearm products, techniques, all the things that bind this family together.
BUT………..
At this point in time, this juncture in the history of our Republic, I can think of nothing more important for us, or any other freedom loving group of people, to direct their passions towards.
I have said in the past that our country is strong enough to survive a terrible president for one, and even two terms. That was before the rule of law was eroded to the point that non-prosecution of certain chosen politicos has become accepted practice by a large portion of the electorate.
If you are OK with an IRS used as muscle against political adversaries, a Justice Department protecting certain politicians while destroying others, Supreme Court justices who believe that their job is to stamp with constitutionality the wet dreams of liberals that the people’s representatives would never approve through legislation, or if you believe the 2nd amendment is not worth defending, well I can see ignoring these issues. As for me, I can wait 9 days without hearing about a new gun I don’t have. I would rather spend that time convincing those around me of how important it is that we keep the ones we have.
If this offends anyone, please accept my apology for stating my desire, not only to protect our gun rights, but also to protect the very existence of forums like this. If anyone believes that Hillary will stand up for these issues, by all means, vote your conscience.
Mas, if you believe this post is out of bounds, please delete it. It is not my intent to anger anyone.
I take it that Liberal Dave believes that only the Left-Wing “dead-letter-of-the-law” interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is “real”. This implies that conservative or Libertarian interpretations of the 2A are inherently “false”.
This is ironic. Liberals believe that the only “real” interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is that its practical effect is illusionary and void. Without meaning in any practical sense. In effect, that are insisting that their left-wing ideology is the only thing that is “real”.
Amazing how that ideological lens distorts one’s worldview perceptions, isn’t it? It can literally make the “black” ink on the Constitution of the United States fade into a plain “white” blank page. As if the words don’t even exist or were never written.
It is a standing assumption of the law that Justices shall assume that, when a legislative body drafts a law (or an Amendment to the Constitution) that they intend for it to have a practical effect. Liberals clearly put limits on this assumption. They assume that it only has practical effects insofar as it does not conflict with their underlying Left-Wing ideology.
TN_Man: “Cersei Lannister as my Queen than Hillary Clinton as my President! After all, Cersei is less corrupt and is a helluva lot better looking!” Darn right! Of course I’d rather have Cersei for POTUS than Donald Trump as well.
And in some ways she’d be the ideal candidate; believes in close family relationships and, unlike some candidates, always pays her debts.
Okay IMHO there are few candidates from GoT who’d be a worse choice than Hilary and one in particular springs to mind. You through “Grab ’em by the . . . ” was bad? Though to my mind the list of GoT’s characters who’d be a worse choice than Trump is even smaller.
Actually Ned Stark could be a good choice for the Republicans. A solid Northerner (British sense of the word), obviously a firm believer in duty and self-reliance. And a family man to boot. (We’ll describe Jon Snow as his “nephew.”) Lousy campaign slogan though: “Winter is coming!” “Well, yes.”
Okay this is making light of a very serious subject, but sometimes it’s a shame that our real life leaders seem to have less substance than imaginary shadows from fiction.
Well, even though I voted for Trump here in North Carolina. I’m still not sure if we’re not going to have a good fight on our hands trying to protect our Constitution. Our country is being run a ground, by Politicians not Statesman.
