  1. The article requires a subscription to the Wall Street Journal.

As many are aware, coverage of Kim Rhodes medaling in 6 straight Olympics was essentially nonexistent.

Perhaps the story was saved on a private server…..

  2. Thanks for pointing out that glaring omission, Mas. What an impartial, fair and balanced, un-prejudiced media we have. What would they report if Kim Rhode was LGBT?

  3. Not a peep in the MSM. Not even for young Ginny that took gold first time out in 30 meter air rifle. I believe USA got more but,you know, it just doesn’t fit the agenda. I’ve never seen coverage of any olympic shooting.

  4. When’s the last time you heard his guy’ name mentioned?

“Little argument can be given to the statement that Lones Wigger is the greatest competitive rifle shooter yet produced in the United States. Leaving aside his Olympic record, which includes making the team in 1968 and 1980, he held or co-held 27 world records – 14 team and 13 individual. He won 58 National Championships of almost every variety since 1963. He was a member of 16 major U.S. international teams, starting with the 1963 Pan-American Games and his record includes: 22 World Championships (two individual, 20 team); seven Pan-American titles; 18 victories in the Championship of the Americas meet; 16 victories in the Council Internationale Sport du Militaire meet; and in those four meets, plus the Olympics, he won 108 medals.

  5. Anyone who can’t read the article — search for the article title on Google. You will get a free pass.

  6. She is 37. That means she has been shooting (and medaling) at the olympics since she was 13. Pretty impressive

  7. I was amused to find a Snopes.com article on this topics that declared this story “false” because they found some obscure sources reporting on the achievements of this Olympic Champion. They even thought to include a blurb congratulating her “as part of the media”. Funny how the roaches scurry INTO the light sometimes when they are found out!

  8. Sorry Mas. We have more important things to do. Like debate the particulars of one Ryan Lochte who may or may not have been robbed at a gas station near Rio.

  9. Just want to point out that NBC did broadcast a very nice 4 minute interview with Ginny Thrasher during their Day 1 afternoon Olympic coverage, a couple of hours after she had won USA’s first 2016 Gold Medal, in her event, 10 meter air rifle. Her final was held at 9:30 am, not a popular time for live television coverage, not that NBC would have covered the event regardless of time of day. Do airguns count?

Also, if I may go back in history a few years, I recall watching the Men’s and Women’s Biathlon events during the last Winter Olympics. Both of these events were covered in full during NBC’s evening Prime Time coverage, so at least at that point in time, NBC wasn’t completely anti firearm.

Finally, I did happen upon a couple of minutes of men’s shotgun action on one of NBC’s secondary Olympic feeds the other day, just for the record.

  10. Had the media covered the event, no doubt some learned “expert” would have described her as shooting a multi-barreled, rapid fire, deadly assault weapon of war shotgun.

Having a friend almost lose his new .375 H&H upon entering Africa, I wonder what the young lady went through getting her gun into South America? Were there any hoops that needed jumping through, or being an Olympic competitor, was her way made easier?

  11. Just saw this at the Angry Patriot site:

THESE Are The 2 Companies That Are BOYCOTTING a Pro-Gun Olympian

Political correctness and liberalism continue to run amok in 2016, and it even is evident in the Olympics. Two companies have shamelessly come out and said they will not sponsor an Olympian who supports the Second Amendment.

That’s right, Procter and Gamble and Coca Cola will not support 6-time Olympic Medalist Kimberly Rhode, per Breitbart.com.

    Here’s the link:

You can stop drinking Coke, but they won’t notice, and it’s very difficult to avoid products produced by P&G.
