The Evil Princess and I were married last week.  I hope you’ll be happy for us.

It was a simple ceremony in Chicagoland. She’s a native of Chicago (I maintain I rescued her, though she still says “kidnapped”) and since we’re both Second Amendment rights activists, it pleased us all the more to do it in “conquered territory.”

It was an open carry wedding, highly unusual in those environs but legal there on private property. If our kind of folks did the social register thing, the newspaper announcement might have read, “The bride wore a Glock 19 9mm, and the groom wore a Smith & Wesson 1911 .45 ACP, accessorized by a .38 Special Smith & Wesson Model 442.”

No one really noticed. One reason might be that we both wore black. (Why bride and groom would wear black is a matter we’ll leave to speculation for now.)  The guns and holsters were black too. They blend in rather discreetly.

The officiator didn’t seem to notice the hardware. Neither did the mother of the bride, but I maintain this it was because her shotgun blocked her view of my hip…

  1. Congratulations Gail and Mas. Attending your class and meeting Gail has been one of the highlights of my life. I wish you many happy years in the future.

  2. Congratulations you two! Though I’m not sure why you’d want to ruin a perfectly good relationship by getting married, I’m sure that you had your reasons! Seriously though, I wish you nothing but the very best, and lots of love and laughter!

  3. Well it’s about time she made an honest man out of you.
I am so happy for you both my friend.
    Continued blessings and happiness.

Sending a virtual congratulatory HUG !!

  4. I remember meeting the “Princess” a couple of years ago in Scottsboro, AL at your MAG 20 sponsored by Tiger McKee of Shootrite. I could see she is a delightful, competent, and efficient right hand girl to you and I wondered how you would get along without her. May your years together be long, happy, and full of God’s Blessings!

  5. Congrats to you both. I am very happy for you. I lost my wife of 46 years 3 years ago. Seems like only yesterday. I wish you a long and happy marriage. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

  6. A lovely bride. It would be a gross exaggeration to say the same about the groom, but I digress: Congratulations to you both. :0)

  7. Congratulations! Still an optimist after all these years!

Some say it’s like a dog with its head out the window as you drive down the highway, lips flapping in the wind. It doesn’t even feel good, you just can’t stop yourself. Heh, heh.

  8. Congratulations!
We just celebrated our 48th last March. We were 17. High school sweet hearts.
    What a journey.
    Wishing you both the best!

  9. Out freaking STANDING ! Nice to see good things happen to good people.
So, that would make you Mr. Evil Princess……

  10. Mas and Gail, Although I have never met either of you in person I follow your column all the time. Here’s wishing both of you all the best in the years ahead. Congratulations!

  11. Congratulations and wishing you two, the best, for ever. I hope you are always as happy as you are today.

  12. Congratulations! I wish the bride and groom all the best.

On a side note, after watching the infamous “Red Wedding” episode on Game of Thrones, I don’t wonder that you were armed to the teeth at your wedding. Being unarmed did not work out too well for the Starks!

  13. “All things come to those who wait”…:-)

Glad you didn’t wait too long.

Wonder if the pillow talk now will be 9mm versus .45 ACP?

Glad you both took this step and that your future together remains happy and safe.
