Whatever your belief system, it’s a traditionally American time of year to appreciate those we care about, and to share compassion and good fortune.
On the Internet this season, the “history” behind the beloved story of Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer has been running around in a schmaltzy form that’s as much of a tear-jerker as “The Little Match Girl.”
Whattaya know…according to Snopes, while the ‘net version has been exaggerated, there’s more than enough truth at it’s core for it to give a little inspiration for the holiday.
Everyone on this end wishes you a joyous and relaxing Christmas weekend! Heck, I may party enough to get a little “red-nosed” myself.
And Merry Christmas to you and yours, Massad. I always appreciate your insight and comments. Have a wonderful New Year.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Same back to you and your family and thank you for wishing the family and myself a Merry Christmas as sip on a Bourbon on the rocks.
But I heard him exclaim, as he sped through the night,
Happy Christmas to all! And watch your front sight!
Merry Christmas.
“Merry Christmas” to you and yours Mr. Ayoob. And I’ll second that “Red Nose” bit also.
You’re experience, thoughts, ideas, and teachings are gifts that are given all year around.

Speaking of red-nosed….may I pose a serious question? I have had numerous conversations with gun owners on this one and gotten a wide and emotional set of answers. It comes out of the various legal battles to carry in bars and restaurants. Plus some states are passing laws that amount to a DUI or DWI for CCW holders.
What does a responsible gun owner do when A. he is out and about ? does he drink on “duty” so to say? or go un-armed? B. Is he allowed to defend himself in his home during a celebration like the holidays, where he/she may have imbibed? Or are they expected to submit to a home invasion?
MAS.. Off topic I know.. but.. my family is going to Mexico for a couple weeks in January.. Is there any way an American citizen can legally carry in Mexico?
Just curious,
Your friend,
Karen
Karen, I’ve checked, and believe me…”there ain’t no way in hell.”
Sad to be delivering bad tidings at Christmas,
Mas
Long Island Mike,
I just avoid that entire problem and not drink. Don’t really care for the taste of alcohol. At get togethers, I ask for a bottle of water or juice, or during the holidays eggnog. I’m real festive aren’t I?
If you would like to enjoy a drink or to during the holidays, I’d probably just follow DMV’s guidelines for alcohol consumption.
I mean if you were involved in a self-defense shooting and you followed DMV’s guidelines you’d at least have some legal ground. There’s always the argument that a car possesses far more energy and killing power than a handgun. So if your Blood Alcohol Concentration allows you to legally drive, it should allow you to use a firearm. Just my two pennies.
Hope everyone had a safe Christmas,
-Tim
My 2cents, Karen, stay the hell out of m Mexico! They’re killin’ everybody
