Assessment of America

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Dave,

Thanks for this article.

I’m 61 & have been watching this once great country begin to fall apart since …well probably since Eisenhower warned the country about the military/industrial complex 50 years ago. Seems like that was the beginning of the end…at least it seems that’s about when the destruction of the country began in earnest.

Guys our age have seen the best years of the U.S. I have a son & daughter ages 30 & 32 & a grandkid….am scared as hell for them & their generation. Son has some sense, girl is liberal as hell.

Wife & I can probably survive ok here in rural upper Midwest…gardens, firewood, water, meat. & spend little.

The U.S. Constitution? What did Dubya call it ? “nothing but a G– Damn piece of paper”. And today…in practice…that’s what it is. Can’t believe I just wrote that.

We do need to be strong & keep up the fight, Dave.

Thanks again for the article.

Charlie

Thank you!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Mr. Dave Duffy,

I want to take this time to thank you for working on and/or creating this website.  I am a currently a stay at home mother of two toddlers with a third baby on the way. My husband and I are a young couple with mature dreams of owning our own property, living off the land, and helping others.

Currently we are finding it hard to make money and thinking on what we can do different. We moved to NC from NY in hopes of a better economy after we graduated college. With his degree in Anthropology and mine in English we somehow found ourselves unemployed and more mouths to feed. After researching ways to make money and coming across your website my hope and dream have been replenished. I want to thank you for doing what you do. I am blessed to have come across it.

The story of the couple making money from home and homeschooling there children touched my heart. I want that and am not going to give up.

Sincerely,

Mindy L. Scott

Nice bridge!

It appears Jim Duke read Claire Wolfe’s article, Build a trail, and sent along a photo of a bridge he built.

Nice bridge, Jim!

Whole Sheebang

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

I just received my order today, and am so excited!

I have been getting your magazine out from the library in town for over 2 years now and finally convinced my husband to let me get the Whole Sheebang. WOW, what a lot of stuff comes in that box!! My husband and I are going to be busy reading!

Thank you so much for your great magazine and keep up the good work. I believe and hope people are starting to wake up to what is going on in this country.

Thank you again,

Theresa Ferre

A quick Tour of Hyperinflation

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Great article. My husband, Bob, and I saw this coming back in 1974 and have been spreading the word since then, to small avail.

One point not made was that the government has mortgaged away our country to other countries like China. When the whole ball of wax starts to melt, those mortgages are going to be called in and we, who were born and raised here in the USA, will find ourselves tenants on land that is no longer American owned. Actually, we are tenants already; most people just don’t know that… yet.

Also, remember the Federal Reserve isn’t federal at all. A wise banker once said, “Allow me to control the money and I don’t care who runs the country.”

Obviously, there is no simple fix. No, we cannot predict the future, but by looking to the history of once great nations, we can see the natural results of hyperinflation. Thank you for sharing in such a wise and concise manner.

Bird houses

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Hi.

I just read the article about free pallets for making bird houses. What a GREAT idea! Lots of good information.

I just started making bird houses and I can tell you, it’s addicting! I love it. I’m looking for a source to buy mini weather
vanes for the top of my bird houses. Any ideas? I can’t seem to find any information about tops for my houses.

Thanks,

Mary Pericolosi
